Middleton Tower Pontins

A photo of me and my Grandad at Middleton Tower Pontins. My grandparents went here for their holidays nearly every year (maybe even more than once a year) at least until I was 18. The site still exists, I think, although it's now derelict and heavily vandalised.

Things I remember from those Hi-Di-Halcyon days; the "Noddy" train (I wonder if they paid the Blyton estate residuals on that), trampolines, a very shallow boating lake, and indoor pool in a building that looked like an ocean liner. Strange days.

My husband,Alan and myself were the photographers at Middleton Tower, from the early 1960`s until it closed in 1994. Your Grandad`s face is very familiar.A regular guest.I have posted lots of pics and memories on www.pontinshistory.co.uk

The site is currently being developed as Europes largest retirement village. We, along with old friends and colleagues, were lucky enough to have been invited to the festivities when the showhouse was opened. We made many lasting friends there.over the years.Wonderful memories
Good luck

Hi (Di, Hi),
We are now amongst the first wave of immigrants (retired wrinklies) to live on the new development.
We like it, and when the promised facilities are opened, it will be brilliant.
